Aggreko has launched three Tier 4 Final diesel generators designed for remote Canadian work sites. The units are available in 145 kW, 210 kW and 1,200 kW capacities and will be offered exclusively to Canadian contractors, according to the company.

Aggreko says the generators pair its latest technologies with hardware configured for Canadian market and regulatory requirements. All three models are CSA and UN31A compliant, addressing electrical and fuel regulations in Canada. The company describes the units as capable of reliable, low-emissions power for commercial and industrial applications.

Onboard 600V output

The 1,200 kW model offers onboard 600V capability, which Aggreko says eliminates the need for additional step-up transformers. The direct 600V output is intended to reduce project complexity, improve cost-efficiency and minimize potential points of failure. Aggreko sees a particular advantage for large industrial loads where 600V is frequently required, and says the configuration can give customers a competitive edge in those applications.

Paul Nascimento, Aggreko’s managing director for Canada, said the Canadian-specific configuration reflects the importance of the market. He pointed to large petrochemical and mining industries operating across vast, remote territories, along with construction and data centre sectors, as sources of demand for powerful and precisely configured energy solutions.

Canopy units and large loads

The 145 kW and 210 kW models are canopy units that Aggreko describes as readily deployable for immediate energy needs. The 1,200 kW unit is positioned for large industrial loads. The additions expand Aggreko’s Canadian fleet, which ranges from 25 kW to 1,200 kW.

Through its Canadian service centres, Aggreko’s energy experts work with customers in data centres, construction, oil and gas, mining and events. The generators are intended to supply temporary power for a variety of applications, including operations that need power away from permanent grid connections.

Emissions, noise and data centre demand

Aggreko says all three models provide industry-leading fuel efficiency, ultra-low emissions and significantly controlled noise levels, surpassing local requirements. The company also identifies Canada’s expanding data centre industry as a suitable application. As provincial regulators look to limit how data centre operators draw power from the grid, Aggreko says its Tier 4 Final generators can provide off-grid energy to keep facilities operational with minimal disruption to communities.

The launch gives Canadian contractors additional options across small canopy-mounted units and large industrial generator sets, while keeping compliance with Canadian electrical and fuel rules as a central part of the product configuration.
